Exodus 33-34 | Seeking God's Presence, Not Just His Blessings
Thursday Feb 27, 2025
Thursday Feb 27, 2025
Episode Summary:
In this episode of No Dusty Bibles, we explore Exodus 33-34, where Moses encounters God in a powerful way. After Israel’s failure with the golden calf, God offers to send them to the Promised Land—but without His presence. Moses refuses to settle for blessings without God Himself and boldly asks, “Show me Your glory.” These chapters remind us that the greatest gift God gives us is Himself. Join us as we reflect on what it means to truly seek God—not just for what He can do, but for who He is.
Key Highlights from the Episode
Overview of the Passage:
Exodus 33:
God tells Moses He will send Israel to the Promised Land but will not go with them because of their sin.
Moses pleads with God, saying, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here” (Exodus 33:15).
Moses asks to see God’s glory, and God reveals that He will pass by and proclaim His name and goodness.
Exodus 34:
God renews His covenant with Israel despite their failures.
He declares His character: “The Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness” (Exodus 34:6).
Moses spends 40 days on the mountain, returning with a radiant face after encountering God.
Key Themes or Lessons:
The Priority of God’s Presence – Moses understood that without God, no amount of blessing was enough. Are we willing to say the same? Do we value time with God over temporary success? (Exodus 33:15)
God’s Character is the Foundation of Our Faith – When Moses asked to see God’s glory, God revealed His nature, not just His power. Knowing who God is helps us trust Him fully (Exodus 34:6-7).
Seeking Transformation Over Transaction – The Israelites wanted God's blessings, but Moses wanted God Himself. When we pursue relationship over results, we experience true spiritual transformation (Exodus 33:18).
Devotional Application: "Seeking More of God"
Moses could have settled for a life of comfort, success, and answered prayers—but he wanted something greater. He longed for God’s presence above everything else.
It’s easy to fall into the habit of seeking God for what He can do—help with decisions, provision, healing—but are we seeking Him for who He is?
Do we carve out intentional time just to be with Him?
Do we study His character to know Him deeper?
Do we worship not just in need, but in gratitude for who He is?
If we’re not careful, we can settle for spiritual “success” without intimacy with God. But the true prize of our faith isn’t the Promised Land—it’s God Himself.

Exodus 31-32 | Waiting on God Without Wandering
Wednesday Feb 26, 2025
Wednesday Feb 26, 2025
Episode Summary:
In this episode of No Dusty Bibles, we dive into Exodus 31-32, a passage that highlights both God’s faithfulness and our struggle with impatience. While God equips His people for His work and reaffirms the importance of rest, the Israelites grow restless and create a golden calf instead of waiting for Him. How often do we do the same—turning to distractions or temporary fixes when God’s timing feels slow? Join us as we explore what it means to wait on God without wandering, trusting that His plans are always worth our patience.
Key Highlights from the Episode
Overview of the Passage:
Exodus 31:
God calls and equips Bezalel and Oholiab, filling them with His Spirit to skillfully craft the Tabernacle according to His design.
God reaffirms the Sabbath as a sacred sign of His covenant, emphasizing rest and trust in Him.
Exodus 32:
While Moses is on Mount Sinai, the Israelites grow impatient and demand a god they can see.
Aaron gives in and makes the golden calf, leading Israel into idolatry and disobedience.
Instead of waiting on God’s timing, the people take matters into their own hands—resulting in devastating consequences.
Key Themes or Lessons:
God Equips Us for His Work – Just as God filled Bezalel and Oholiab with His Spirit, He gives us the wisdom, skills, and resources we need to fulfill our calling (Exodus 31:3-5). When He calls, He also provides.
The Danger of Impatience – The Israelites grew impatient and turned to an idol instead of trusting God. Impatience can lead to compromise, causing us to settle for substitutes rather than waiting on God’s best (Exodus 32:1-4).
Resting in God’s Presence – The Sabbath command reminds us that rest is an act of trust. Waiting on God means choosing faith over frantic striving, believing He is always at work, even when we can’t see it (Exodus 31:13-17).
Devotional Application: "Trusting God in the Waiting"
Waiting on God isn’t easy. When answers don’t come as quickly as we hope, we can be tempted to take matters into our own hands—just like the Israelites did with the golden calf.
Maybe we distract ourselves with busyness instead of pressing into prayer.
Maybe we rush into decisions rather than waiting on God’s guidance.
Maybe we look to worldly comforts instead of trusting that He will provide.
But faithfulness means trusting God in the waiting. When we replace Him with temporary solutions, we miss out on His perfect plan. Instead of wandering, let’s commit to resting in His timing, knowing that His presence is worth the wait.

Reflection Prompts:
Trusting God’s Timing: The Israelites turned to idols when they grew impatient. Are there areas in your life where you struggle to wait on God? How can you choose trust over control?
Recognizing Modern Idols: The golden calf was a visible substitute for God. What are the “golden calves” in your life—things you turn to for comfort, security, or distraction instead of fully relying on God?
Faithful in the Waiting: Moses remained in God’s presence, while the Israelites lost focus. How can you stay spiritually anchored when God seems silent or His answers feel delayed?
Closing Encouragement:
Thank you for joining me today on No Dusty Bibles! God’s timing is always perfect, and His presence is worth the wait. If you’re in a season of uncertainty, don’t settle for a substitute—trust that He is working, even when you can’t see it.

Exodus 29-30 | A Life Set Apart for God
Tuesday Feb 25, 2025
Tuesday Feb 25, 2025
Episode Summary:
In this episode of No Dusty Bibles, we dive into Exodus 29-30, where God outlines the consecration of the priests and sacred acts of worship in the Tabernacle. These chapters may seem ritualistic at first, but they reveal a deeper truth—God calls His people to be set apart for Him. Through Jesus, we are now a royal priesthood, living as those dedicated to worship and service. Join us as we explore what it means to live a life consecrated to God, not through rituals, but through hearts fully devoted to Him.
Key Highlights from the Episode
Overview of the Passage:
Exodus 29: God provides instructions for setting apart Aaron and his sons as priests. This detailed consecration process included sacrifices, anointing oil, and sacred garments, symbolizing their holiness before God.
Exodus 30: God commands the creation of the altar of incense, atonement money, the bronze basin, and the anointing oil—each emphasizing the sacredness of worship and the importance of approaching God with reverence.
While these ceremonies were necessary under the Old Covenant, through Christ, we are now spiritually consecrated and made holy by His sacrifice (Hebrews 10:10).
Key Themes or Lessons:
God Calls His People to Be Set Apart – The priests were chosen for a special role, but now, all believers are called to live for God (1 Peter 2:9). Holiness isn’t about rituals—it’s about reflecting Christ in our daily lives.
Worship Is Sacred and Intentional – The altar of incense was a continual offering before God, representing prayer and worship (Revelation 5:8). Worship is not just an event—it’s a lifestyle.
Jesus Is Our Great High Priest – While Aaron and his sons needed purification, Jesus has already made us clean (Hebrews 4:14-16). Because of Him, we can boldly approach God in worship and service.
Devotional Application: "Living a Consecrated Life"
The priests had to go through an extensive process of purification before serving in the Tabernacle, highlighting the seriousness of approaching a holy God. But today, Jesus has done the work of purification for us.
Holiness is not about outward rituals—it’s about the posture of our hearts.
Are we setting ourselves apart for God in our daily lives?
Do we approach worship and prayer with intentionality, or is it just routine?
Are we living as those chosen to reflect God’s holiness in the world?
God doesn’t call us to perfection—He calls us to devotion. As we embrace our identity as His people, let’s live in a way that reflects His holiness, grace, and love.

Reflection Prompts:
Being Set Apart: The priests were consecrated for God’s service. In what ways is God calling you to live differently from the world? How can you reflect His holiness in your daily life?
A Heart of Worship: The altar of incense was a constant offering before God. How can you make worship and prayer a more central part of your daily life?
Living as a Royal Priesthood: 1 Peter 2:9 calls us a royal priesthood. How can you embrace that identity by interceding for others, serving in ministry, or living in obedience to God’s calling?
Closing Encouragement:
Thank you for joining me today on No Dusty Bibles! Remember, you are set apart, called to worship, and empowered to live for God. Let’s walk in that truth this week, embracing our identity as His holy people.

Exodus 27-28 | Clothed in Holiness
Monday Feb 24, 2025
Monday Feb 24, 2025
Episode Summary:
In this episode of No Dusty Bibles, we explore Exodus 27-28, where God provides Moses with detailed instructions for the Tabernacle and the priesthood. While these descriptions of altars, lampstands, and priestly garments may seem distant from our lives today, they reveal a profound truth—God calls His people to holiness, and through Christ, He equips us to live in His presence. Join us as we reflect on what it means to be set apart for God and how Jesus, our Great High Priest, has clothed us in His righteousness.
Key Highlights from the Episode
Overview of the Passage:
Exodus 27: God gives instructions for the altar of burnt offerings and the courtyard of the Tabernacle, emphasizing the need for sacrifice and atonement to approach His presence.
Exodus 28: God describes the high priest’s garments, including the ephod, breastpiece, robe, and turban, each symbolizing how the priest was set apart to intercede for the people. The inscription “Holy to the Lord” on the high priest’s turban serves as a reminder of God’s call to holiness.
These instructions were not just about worship details but pointed forward to Jesus, our Great High Priest, who fulfills what these garments and sacrifices represented.
Key Themes or Lessons:
God’s Call to Holiness – The high priest was set apart to serve God, reflecting that holiness isn’t about rules, but about relationship. As believers, we are called to be holy as He is holy (1 Peter 1:15-16).
Clothed in Righteousness – The high priest wore garments symbolizing purity and intercession, but through Jesus, we are clothed in His righteousness (Isaiah 61:10, 2 Corinthians 5:21). We don’t have to strive for holiness on our own—Christ has made us holy.
The Role of a Royal Priesthood – 1 Peter 2:9 calls believers “a royal priesthood.” This means we are set apart to reflect God’s glory, intercede for others, and live as His representatives in the world.
Devotional Application: "Walking in Your Identity"
Exodus 28 describes in great detail how the high priest was dressed for his role, showing that God is intentional about how His people approach Him. But because of Jesus, we no longer need a human high priest to intercede for us—He has made us righteous and calls us to walk in that identity.
But here’s the question: Are you living in the identity God has given you, or are you still trying to measure up on your own?
Many of us struggle with feeling unworthy, striving for perfection, or doubting our place in God’s presence.
But the truth is, we don’t have to prove ourselves—God has already clothed us in His grace.
Holiness is not about perfection—it’s about surrendering to the One who has already made us holy.
So today, walk confidently in the identity God has given you. You are set apart, covered in Christ’s righteousness, and called to reflect His holiness.

Saturday Feb 22, 2025
Saturday Feb 22, 2025
Episode Summary:
In this episode of No Dusty Bibles, we explore Exodus 17-26, a powerful section where God reveals His provision, His law, and His desire to dwell among His people. From water flowing from a rock to the giving of the Ten Commandments and the intricate details of the Tabernacle, these chapters remind us that God is always present and desires a relationship with us. Join us as we reflect on His faithfulness and ask: Are we making space for His presence in our daily lives?
Key Highlights from the Episode
Overview of the Passage:
Exodus 17-18: God provides water from a rock and gives Israel victory over the Amalekites. Jethro advises Moses to delegate leadership, showing the importance of wise counsel.
Exodus 19-20: Israel arrives at Mount Sinai. God calls them His chosen people and gives them the Ten Commandments to guide their relationship with Him and others.
Exodus 21-23: God provides civil laws emphasizing justice, integrity, and compassion, reminding us that faith impacts daily life.
Exodus 24: The covenant is confirmed as Moses and the elders experience God’s presence on the mountain.
Exodus 25-26: God gives specific instructions for the Tabernacle, symbolizing His holiness and His desire to be near His people.
Through these events, we see one core truth: God is present, and He invites us into a deeper relationship with Him.
Key Themes or Lessons:
God Desires to Dwell Among His People – From the Tabernacle to Jesus, and now within us (1 Corinthians 3:16), God’s presence is personal and near.
Worship Requires Intentionality – The Tabernacle was built with care and reverence, reminding us that meeting with God should be a priority.
God’s Provision in Every Season – Whether through manna in the wilderness, wise leadership, or sacred laws, God provides for His people physically, spiritually, and relationally.
Devotional Application: "Making Space for God’s Presence"
God’s command in Exodus 25:8 is powerful: “Have them make a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them.”
The Tabernacle wasn’t just a structure—it was a sign of God’s deep desire to be with His people. And today, through Christ, we no longer need a physical Tabernacle—we are His dwelling place.
But are we making space for Him in our daily lives?
We fill our days with schedules, distractions, and noise, often squeezing out time to simply be with God.
Just as the Tabernacle was designed with intentionality, our lives should be shaped around His presence—in prayer, worship, and daily decisions.
God isn’t waiting for perfect moments—He’s waiting for us. Whether through a quiet morning devotion, worship in the car, or an intentional Sabbath rest, He desires to meet with us.
If you’ve felt distant from God, take heart—He hasn’t moved. He is waiting for you to make space for Him today.

Friday Feb 21, 2025
Episode Summary:
In this episode of No Dusty Bibles, we explore Exodus 25-26, where God gives Moses detailed instructions for building the Tabernacle. These chapters reveal something extraordinary—God desires to dwell among His people. While the Israelites needed a sacred space to meet with Him, today, through Jesus, we are God’s dwelling place. The Golden Lampstand is a reminder that God’s light guides His people.
Exodus 26: The Design of the Tabernacle
God gives specific details about the Tabernacle’s construction, showing His desire for holiness and order.
The Holy of Holies is separated by a veil, signifying that access to God was limited under the Old Covenant.

Devotional Application:
In the Old Testament, God’s presence was confined to a specific place, but now we are His dwelling place. The same God who wanted to meet with Israel desires to meet with you.
The question is: Are we making space for Him?
Just as the Tabernacle had a specific design, our lives should be intentionally shaped around God’s presence. Whether in prayer, worship, or daily decisions, we are invited to create space for Him.
If you’ve been feeling distant from God, He hasn’t moved—He still longs to dwell with you. The invitation is open; all we have to do is say yes.

Moses reads the Book of the Covenant, and the people declare, “Everything the Lord has said, we will do” (Exodus 24:7).
Blood is sprinkled as a sign of the covenant between God and Israel, pointing forward to Jesus’ sacrifice.
Moses ascends Mount Sinai to meet with God, where God’s presence appears in fire and cloud.
Key Themes or Lessons:
Obedience is an Invitation, Not a Burden – God’s commands weren’t meant to restrict Israel but to draw them into relationship (John 14:15).
God’s Presence is the Goal – Israel didn’t just receive laws—they were invited to experience God’s presence (Exodus 24:15-18).
Jesus Fulfills the Covenant – The blood of the covenant in Exodus foreshadows Jesus, the Lamb of God, whose sacrifice brings us into a new covenant (Luke 22:20).
Devotional Application:
Obedience is not about checking off religious boxes—it’s about responding to God’s love. When Israel agreed to follow God, they weren’t just agreeing to rules—they were stepping into a relationship.
The same is true for us today. Jesus fulfilled the covenant, making a way for us to walk closely with God. When we obey His commands, we experience more of His presence, His guidance, and His blessings.
So today, ask yourself: Am I following God out of duty, or out of love for Him?

Exodus 21-22 | God Cares About the Details
Wednesday Feb 19, 2025
Wednesday Feb 19, 2025
Episode Summary:
In this episode of No Dusty Bibles, we explore Exodus 21-22, where God gives Israel specific laws for justice, fairness, and compassion. While these laws may seem distant from our daily lives, they reveal God’s deep care for how His people live—not just in big spiritual moments, but in the everyday details. These chapters remind us that our faith isn’t just about worship—it’s about how we treat others, handle responsibilities, and reflect God’s character in our daily lives.
Key Highlights from the Episode
Overview of the Passage:
Exodus 21-22: Laws for Daily Life
After giving the Ten Commandments, God provides practical instructions for His people.
These laws cover justice, personal responsibility, treatment of others, and community care.
Rather than being restrictive, these laws reflect God’s character and teach Israel how to live as His set-apart people.
Key Themes or Lessons:
Faith is Lived Out in the Everyday – These laws remind us that worship isn’t just about ceremonies—it’s about how we live daily (Micah 6:8).
God Calls Us to Justice and Compassion – Many of these laws protect the vulnerable, showing that God cares for the weak, the oppressed, and the outcast (Psalm 68:5).
Obedience in Small Things Matters – Following God isn’t just about big acts of faith—faithfulness in small decisions shapes a life that honors Him (Luke 16:10).
Devotional Application:
It’s easy to skim past these laws, but they show us something profound:
God cares about our character, our relationships, and our integrity.
Faith is not just for Sunday—it’s for every conversation, decision, and responsibility we handle.
When we honor God in the small things, we build a life that reflects His glory.
Take time today to reflect on how your daily actions align with your faith.

Exodus 19-20 | Living in Response to God's Love
Tuesday Feb 18, 2025
Tuesday Feb 18, 2025
Episode Summary:
In this episode of No Dusty Bibles, we explore Exodus 19-20, where God calls Israel into a covenant relationship at Mount Sinai and gives them the Ten Commandments. These chapters remind us that God’s grace always comes first, and obedience follows as a response to His love. If you’ve ever wrestled with the purpose of God’s commands, this episode will encourage you to see obedience not as a burden but as a joyful response to His faithfulness.
Key Highlights from the Episode
Overview of the Passage:
Exodus 19: Preparing for Covenant with God
Israel arrives at Mount Sinai, and God calls them to be His holy people (Exodus 19:5-6).
Before giving the Law, God reminds them of His faithfulness: “I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself” (Exodus 19:4).
The people consecrate themselves, preparing their hearts for what God will reveal.
Exodus 20: The Ten Commandments
God gives the Ten Commandments, a moral foundation for Israel, focusing on:
Relationship with God (No other gods, keeping the Sabbath, honoring His name).
Relationship with Others (Honoring parents, not stealing, lying, or coveting).
The people fear God’s presence, but Moses reassures them: “God has come to test you, so that the fear of Him will keep you from sinning” (Exodus 20:20).
Key Themes or Lessons:
Obedience is a Response to Grace – God saved Israel before He gave them the Law. Similarly, we obey God not to earn His love, but because we are already loved (John 14:15).
Holiness Sets Us Apart – God called Israel to live differently from surrounding nations. As believers, we are also called to be holy and reflect Christ in our lives (1 Peter 1:15-16).
God’s Commands Bring Freedom – The Ten Commandments were not given to restrict Israel but to help them live in harmony with God and each other. Obedience is an invitation to a full life (Psalm 19:7-11).
Devotional Application:
Holiness isn’t about legalism or checking boxes—it’s about walking closely with God. Just as Israel was called to live differently, we are called to reflect Christ in our daily lives.
Do you see God’s commands as a burden or a gift?
Are there areas in your life where you struggle to trust His ways?
This week, ask God to help you embrace obedience as an act of love and trust.
Reflection Prompts:
How does remembering God’s faithfulness help you obey Him? – Before giving the Law, God reminded Israel of His love and rescue. How can reflecting on what God has done for you strengthen your trust in Him?
In what ways is God calling you to live set apart? – Are there areas in your life where you need to realign your actions with God’s ways? How can you practically pursue holiness?
Do you view obedience as restriction or freedom? – If obeying God feels difficult, how can you shift your mindset to see His commands as life-giving instead of limiting?

Exodus 17-18 | Strength for the Battle, Wisdom for the Journey
Monday Feb 17, 2025
Monday Feb 17, 2025
ode Summary:
In this episode of No Dusty Bibles, we explore Exodus 17-18, where God provides both strength for battle and wisdom for leadership. As Israel faces their first military attack, we see the power of trusting God’s strength and relying on others for support. Then, through Jethro’s wise counsel, Moses learns an important lesson about delegation and avoiding burnout. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed, exhausted, or like you’re carrying too much on your own, this episode is a reminder that God equips us for the journey and provides people to help us along the way.
Key Highlights from the Episode
Overview of the Passage:
Exodus 17 – Israel faces two major challenges:
They run out of water and complain again, but God instructs Moses to strike a rock, providing life-giving water (Exodus 17:6).
The Amalekites attack, and as Joshua leads the battle, Israel’s victory is tied to Moses lifting his hands. When he grows weary, Aaron and Hur hold up his arms, ensuring success (Exodus 17:11-12).
Exodus 18 – Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law, visits and sees Moses handling too much on his own. He advises Moses to delegate leadership responsibilities to capable men, creating a structure that benefits the whole nation (Exodus 18:17-23).
Key Themes or Lessons:
God Provides Strength in Our Weakness – When Moses’ hands were raised, Israel prevailed. This shows the power of intercession and reliance on God (Exodus 17:11-12). We cannot win spiritual battles on our own—we need God’s strength and the support of others.
The Power of Community – Aaron and Hur held up Moses’ arms, reminding us that we are not meant to carry burdens alone. God places friends, family, and mentors in our lives to strengthen us (Galatians 6:2).
Wisdom in Leadership and Delegation – Jethro’s advice to Moses teaches us that trying to do everything alone leads to burnout. Delegating responsibilities allows others to grow in their gifts while keeping us healthy and effective (Exodus 18:21-22).
Devotional Application:
God never intended for us to fight battles or carry responsibilities alone. Whether it’s spiritual warfare, leadership, or personal struggles, we need both God’s strength and the support of others.
Like Moses, we must recognize when we’re weary and allow others to step in.
Like Joshua, we must trust God’s power to bring victory.
Like Jethro, we must seek and apply wise counsel to avoid burnout and serve more effectively.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed today, take inventory: Where do you need to lean on God’s strength? Who has He placed in your life to support you? And are there areas where you need to delegate or ask for help?
Reflection Prompts:
Where do you need God’s strength? – The Israelites couldn’t win without God’s help. What battles are you trying to fight in your own strength? How can you surrender those struggles to Him?
Who holds up your arms? – Moses had Aaron and Hur. Who in your life strengthens your faith? How can you be intentional about building godly friendships and seeking spiritual support?
Are you carrying too much alone? – Jethro encouraged Moses to share the load. Are there responsibilities you need to delegate or areas where you need to ask for help? How can you apply godly wisdom in managing your time and energy?
